Dustin wanted to go on a hike for his birthday. It started to rain that morning, so his soccer game was canceled. We were afraid we'd have to skip the hike too. Fortunately, the rain stopped, so Darrell was able to take them. Dustin really wanted to see poison ivy. After keeping his eye out for some, Darrell could not find any. At the end of the hike, Darrell spotted a 3 leaf plant that resembled poison ivy, but really wasn't. He told a white lie by saying, "look kids, poison ivy." They squatted down close to the plant and Malia said, "oooh, that could kill you." Have we made them paranoid?

Wanting to go on a hike for his birthday? It sounds like Dustin is just like his daddy. That is so cute. Don't worry about the poison ivy, I think my kids would say the same thing about the stinging nettles here!
